Alkenes

What are alkenes?

Alkenes are hydrocarbons containing at least one carbon-carbon double bond, making them ``unsaturated.'' The general molecular formula for alkenes is C$_{n}$H$_{2n}$, and the carbons involved in the double bond are $sp^{2}$ hybridized.
