Hydrocarbons containing at least one carbon-carbon triple bond (C $\equiv$ C) making them unsaturated. Moreover, the carbons involved in the triple bond are hybridized.

What is the IUPAC convention for naming alkynes?

Similar to alkenes, only that the suffix for alkynes is -yne.
