Alcohols

What are alcohols?

Any organic molecule that has a hydroxyl group ($R-OH$) attached to a carbon. The carbons bonded to the hydroxyl group are $sp^{3}$ hybridized and the general molecular formula for alcohols is C$_{n}$H$_{2n+1}OH$.
