What is the center of mass (CM)?
The unique point on an object that will move along a certain path whether simply moving in a fixed orientation (translational motion) or also rotating (translation plus rotational motion).
What is the center of gravity (CG)?
Very similar to CM, CG is the unique point on an object that gravity is considered to act upon.
What is translational motion equilibrium?
Translational motion in which the sum of the forces acting on an object equals zero (
