Weightlessness

What is weightlessness?

The perception of floating which is seen when an object is accelerating towards earth at $-9.8 \ m/s^{2}$ aka free fall. This can be seen in a geosynchronous satellite which is continually falling towards earth but `just missing it' or Michael Jordan's famous 1988 Slam Dunk title where he lifts off from the free-throw line and experiences a split second of weightlessness.
